Adjusting to Growing Pains

***Disclaimer: today’s Monday motivation is coming at you on a Tuesday because time is just a construct and I think I need some motivation everyday!!!***

I thought I had it all figured out people. I had an end goal and I set numerous smaller goals in a plan to get me to the end goal. I felt I had everything planned out, but life sometimes has other plans. The fact of the matter is that sometimes life throws you through some loops, and how you react to those curveballs is the difference between a successful person and someone who puts their dreams on the shelf.

So if you’re like me and your self esteem, plan, and aspirations just experienced a set back here’s some steps to overcome:

1. Take a deep breath and try to step away from the situation or at least objectively look at the situation. If it’s something you really worked hard for and wanted badly, the failure is going to sting and burn and make your eyes prickle with tears. Feel your emotions; don’t drown in them.

2. Remember your end goal. Meditate and imagine other ways to reach your end goal. Just because you’re experiencing a set back does not mean your end goal isn’t achievable. So your plan was to go from point A to point B? It might not be that easy, you might have point A1, A2, A3, 4, 5, 6 before you reach point B.

3. If it was easy everyone would do it! This is your chance to leave self doubt and other people in the dust. Set yourself some new goals, and leave the failed ones in the dust. Determination is key. If you read any success story you know that things were not simply handed to the most successful people. Keep a solid visual of your end goals and be flexible with your plan. You can’t be discouraged easily.

Keep a strong powerful vision of your end goal and small scale set backs will not deter you.

With love,

Anna B
