unnamed-55.jpgYou all know by now that the number one way I survive the fridgid cold of the winter months is with layers upon layers. The biggest challenge with layering is avoiding looking like the abominable snowman. Today, my base layer is a cream colored ribbed turtle neck from Ammerican Apparel layered under a long muscle tee styled shirt.

This shirt is definitely an interesting piece to have. The pattern, a warm toned flannel, and button up with collar style definitely lend themselves to fall and winter fashion while the light weight materiel, huge slits up the side, and sleeveless cut make it feel ready for sunshine. Because it has lighter colors I could definitely see myself using this piece to the spring time however, I made it appropriate for cold weather by layering it.

To add a horizontal element and give this look some shape I secured my western styled H belt from ASOS around my waist. As far as pants go, went for texture wearing high waisted distressed denim from Carmar.

Picking up the color pallet of my outfit, I of course finished the look off with a pair of my favorite Free Bird cut out ankle booties from Free People and some sparkly ankle socks.

In regards to my hair, I thought I would try something different then the standard ponytail or bun associated with the half up do and I adapted the style with some chic, root baring, pig tails.

I call this low quality selfie: “using my turtle neck to hide from overwhelming amount of work.”

What do you think of this look?
