Statement Sleeves + Guitar Straps

Today’s OOTD is actually from a few days ago, but its one of my favorite looks that I’ve put together in recent memory. I started off with my favorite pair of ripped boyfriend jeans and vintage belt with a hammered metal clasp.

My shirt, with its gorgeous tiered statement sleeves is a gingham wrap piece from an online Australian boutique, Verge Girl. Let me tell you, this is my absolute favorite boutique ever, despite never actually being to the physical store seeing as I haven’t been to Australia. Their Instagram (here) is beautiful, very much my style. The clothes are current and on trend while also being unique and different from what I see in other stores. I have been obsessing over them for months and for the holidays I actually purchased a few pieces and was not the slightest bit disappointed. If I could wish for anything, I would wish they had all their pieces available in smaller sizes. I am a size US 2 so the AUS size 6 fits me comfortably but not all pieces have that size. If you’re looking for new clothing or just style inspiration I would definitely recommend checking them out.

Now that I’m done gushing about my new favorite store, lets get back to my look. Another present I was so lucky to receive this holiday season was this gorgeous Marc Jacobs bag. It’s one of the first designer pieces I have ever owned, so I’m eternally grateful for being gifted it. It’s the color gun mental and I love the zippered pocket designed in the main compartments cover. Its the perfect size and the color matches practically anything. Leather bags tend to wear better then other fabrics in my opinion as well. I plan to bring it with me traveling this summer.

The perfect way to spice up a plain bag, make it match a particular outfit/season or just to show off your fashion sense is to invest in a “guitar strap”. Guitar Straps are a recently rising trend where people exchange the normal matching strap of their bag (designer or otherwise) with either a canvas or leather patterned strap, styled like the strap a performer would attach to a guitar. My bag strap is a beautiful floral embroidered one from Rebecca Minkoff bought through Nordstrom. Investing in some guitar straps the perfect way to make your wardrobe more versatile and ensure that your bag matches all occasions.

Picking up the burgundy tones on my bags strap, I finished my look off with some dark raspberry colored platform heels. The heel is a thick block while there is a platform under the toe and lace up details. They have a nice rubbed finish around the toe which prevents scuffing from showing.

Do you guys want me to go back to linking my outfits?

With love,
