Monochrome

Monochrome

Monochrome is a trend that has been constantly growing over the past year probably due to the simplicity and ease of the stylish look which lends itself to nearly any fashionista. Although by definition, any color scheme or fabric type can be layered on itself to create a monochromatic ensemble above I’ve created a collage demonstrating the three staple colors anyone new to this style could safely try. My favorite part about buying white, grey, or denim clothing is that the pieces work in the winter with black while also matching each other. This honestly allows you to layer and make your closet look larger then it actually is. So without further ado heres the details on my leading color schemes…

White:

Clear, crisp, and confident, white can most definitely be worn after Labor Day! It’s almost guaranteed that a primarily white (or creamy) colored outfit will draw attention while looking effortlessly put together. Whether you go with a form fitting two piece, or white converse and very very very light washed mom jeans the look is extremely versatile. Brands like Adidas with their classic mostly white shoes or Free People with their white lacey numbers further demonstrate how an all white look can have so many occasions and vibes.

Grey:
Any fashion conscious individual would usually cringe at the idea of a “grofit” (an all grey outfit), but thanks to high fashion wearing grey on grey is completely acceptable and honestly encouraged in my books. Wearing a tsirt styled dress, long sleeve or short is one way to be super comfy while avoiding sweatpants. Or you could embrace “fancy” sweat pants and/or multi shaded sweatshirts. If you’re against sweatpants materiel in general or are looking for a way to step this look up, grey Topshop jeans (or any grey jeans) with a different grey toned crop top work wonders. Adding grey in unexpected places such as your shoes is a cute incorporation.
Above for grey I have:

Denim:

Okay, by now its extremely obvious I have a serious relationship with denim (past post) (past post), but once again I’ll say denim has become a huge favorite of mine and the fashion industry. No longer is it just for jeans, although mom jeans or 70s styled flare bottom jeans are all the rage. You can rock overalls, dresses, oversized military jackets, and with so many washes, textures, and fabric mixes who could blame a girl for filling their closet with this fabric. The examples I have in my collage are shown below:
