Confidence Over Trends

One thing I don’t think people understand is that just because there is a clothing trend or something becomes popular does not mean everyone should wear it. Some trends unfortunately look better on certain body types, and instead of attempting to force yourself into a trend that’s unflattering or uncomfortable you should instead focus on finding clothes that reflect your own personal style and body type. Everyone was made different, from body types to the way their mind thinks; mass production of trends makes the world a boring place and its people who embrace their comfort zones while pushing the edges with their uniqueness that end up setting newer trends.
Its very easy to fall into the trap of conformity, there’s a level of comfort in looking around a group of girls and all dressing similar, it’s like a silent sense of approval. Yet at the end of the day are you happy with yourself? Do you look in the mirror and like what you see? Whether you like it or not you’ll remain in this same body for a long stretch of time so instead of obsessing on trying to fit a certain mold, I believe people should embrace themselves. Of course I am a huge promoter that beauty comes from the inside but in order to feel comfortable in your own skin from day to day it’s beneficial to wear clothes that make you feel confident. Loving yourself will result in a more authentic life full of happiness, and attract quality people who respect you for yourself.
For my previous Monday Motivation posts I’ve always included a quote and then explanation, but this week I’m going to do something a little different so bear with me and feel free to leave your opinions on this…

With love,
Anna
